About US

Angel has been inspiring folks around the world. Her indomitable, loving spirit is a blessing to all, as she continues to motivate us with her tender spirit each and every day. Angel has inspired Jennifer to realize her life-long passion: Raising visibility, awareness and support for the four-legged canine angels in our lives. To this end, a portion of every purchase at 100% Angel is gratefully given back to New Leash on Life, a non-profit organization that champions the care of canine companions. 100% Angel is more than a business; it is a portal of love, support and energy for those who share our passion for elevating the status of our furry friends.

Please enter Angel’s Doggy Boutique and discover the exciting gifts she has for you and the furry angel companion in your life. We hope you return often as we add more great gift ideas to our site. We encourage you to contact us to let us know how you are doing, and how we might help you further enjoy the simple and pure love your canine companion brings.

At 100% Angel, we strive to design, create and purchase high quality gifts for you and your pets. We partner with talented artists and crafts persons from around the world to provide you with exceptional quality at affordable prices. All of our products have been tested by the staff of 100% Angel, by Angel herself and her canine friends, and have received Angel’s “kissie of approval”, before we include it in our 100% Angel line.

Get ready for Nuts for Mutts 2008!  Pierce College, Woodland Hills

What is Nuts for Mutts?
Nuts for Mutts is an annual dog show and pet fair celebrating the best of the mutt.  It's just like the Westminster Dog show... okay, not really.  In this show, mixed breed dogs compete in categories such as "Best Kisser," "Fastest Eater," "Most Vocal," "Mystery Mutt" and more.  It's a day of fun and a way for people to show off their mutts, so nothing is taken too seriously (well, that may not always be true for all contestants).

LEND A PAW

LEND A PAW
The Lend a Paw program is designed to rescue dogs from the shelter and train them to be companion social/therapy dogsfor children with Autism .

How It Works

• Lend a Paw trainers and New Leash On Life staff, skilled in obedience and temperament testing, will select dogs from the shelter.

• We are currently working on a program to enter all dogs into a three week comprehensive obedience training program. (Note: New Leash On Life will also continue to rescue older dogs or dogs with injuries or illness. In these cases, some dogs may be put up for adoption without training.)  Dogs that we recognize might do well as Lend a Paw dogs are always put into the three week training program.

• At the end of the 3 weeks, the LAP trainers and Program Manager will evaluate each dog and determine its level of competency. A majority of the dogs are not expected to be chosen for the LAP program, but instead will be placed in the Adoption Program fully obedience trained and ready to go to a loving home. This is also unique to rescue groups, but helps to guarantee an easier transition into its new home while ensuring a permanent placement. The new parents will also go through training to learn to maintain the dog’s good manners and obedience training.

• The dogs who exhibit the temperament required and the ability to learn more complex behaviors will move on to begin training to become Social/Therapy dogs. Once this training is complete, the dog will be ready to be matched up with a family in need of a Social/Therapy dog.

Jennifer Shipstad

On the day of the 2006 walk Angel & I turned in a check for $50 from our best friend Elaine.  We raised a final total of $1,005 for the New Leash On Life Lend a Paw Program. We want to thank all of our friends, family and customers for their generous donations.
Approximately 3 to 4 million pets are euthanized in the U.S. each year because they are not wanted.  Los Angeles has one of the worst pet overpopulation problems in the country.  I'm trying to help by taking place in a fundraising event called "Nuts for Mutts - The Walk," which will raise funds for New Leash On Life Animal Rescue and their "Lend a Paw" program, which unites rescued dogs and children with Autism.

My fundraising goal: $1,000.00
Money raised to date:
$955.00

On October 22, 2006, I am participating in an event called Nuts for Mutts - The Walk "Walk for Paws." It is a 5K walk around the beautiful hills of Pierce College. Each donation I bring in helps raise funds for homeless pets and supports New Leash On Life's Lend a Paw program. Lend a Paw's mission is to continue education and facilitation of animal rescue, to provide a comprehensive program utilizing rescued animals in one-on-one and group therapeutic settings and the permanent placement of animals with disabled people and their families. I am asking for your support for this worthy cause. Any contribution you can make would be great appreciated. Have a paws-a-tively great day ! Jennifer and Angel Shipstad  Feel free to email Jennifer at doggymom@sbcglobal.net with words of encouragement.

The walk is 5k, which means I'll be walking 3.2  miles for our canine friends, through the beautiful hills of Pierce College.  Each step, and each donation given in my name, brings us closer to helping the homeless, abused and abandoned animals as well as children with Autism whose lives could be enhanced with an assistance dog.
