September’s Canine Angel of the Month Lily Emma Lily says she is a happy, fun-loving, outgoing, sweet girl. “As you can see, I am a Miniature Schnauzer. I was born in the Bronx, right here in New York City, but my parents are from England. As a matter of fact, I just celebrated my 3rd birthday recently. On my 2nd birthday, when this picture was taken, I had a big party. The theme was “Princess”. I chose theme colors of pink and purple. Pink because it’s my favorite color, and purple because it’s the color of royalty. I had a four foot castle decoration on one wall and a birthday cake designed to look like a castle as well. We had many dozens of balloons throughout the home, and a vast array of princess decorations. Of course, I had to look the part, so I wore a black and pink satin Isaac Mizrahi dress, with my favorite white pearls and crystal bone charm. Being brought up in society circles, I find it necessary to keep up with the trends and looks for the season. Living in New York City, you are surrounded by so many places to go and be seen, you just have to dress to impress. So I have learned to shop both in the City and on-line. Pearls and diamonds are a girl’s best friend of course. I don't wear collars, so I like to coordinate my necklaces with my outfits by color. Shoes are also great to help complete a look. Sometimes just adding a necklace or a pair of really hot shoes can make all the difference, it can make you go from casual to formal. I have started a nice wardrobe collection. I currently have two drawers and an armoire full of clothes. My wardrobe consists of casual, semi-formal and formal attire. I have pajamas in many colors, summer and formal dresses, sweat suits in every color, jeans and dozens of T-shirts. I also have 3 jackets and 5 coats; my favorite is my pink faux fur coat, which I love to wear with my suede boots. My doggymom loves to spoil me and guess what? I love it!” Joanne M. Bronx, New York
