Princess Kayla March 2007 Canine Angel

Kayla recently had her 1st birthday. She was born on 1/1/2006, and the following day we had enquired about an Australian Terrier puppy and found out she had just been born, so we said we would take her. We first saw her at 3 weeks and then each week until we could take her home at 9 weeks. She was a small ball of black fur but is now reddish in colour. When she reached our home she was greeted by a lovely and huge array of toys for her to play with and an enormous amount of love. Kayla is the child we never could have. I have a chronic illness and thus cannot work and am limited in what I can do at home – this can easily lead to depression. But, Kayla makes sure this never happens. She is always making me laugh, whether it is giving me her cute little innocent face look or whether it is licking me to death with her kisses. Kayla loves her mommy and daddy. With mummy she never stops showing affection, by either licking my face or by sleeping at my feet. If she is sleeping at my feet, she will always lie across one foot and rest her cute little head on the other foot, as a pillow. Or, she will lay behind my feet but have her little body touching mine. She also lies on my lap and rests her upper body and head on my arm, which is on the arm-rest of the chair, thus making sure I cannot move without her knowing. She gives me a reason to get up each day because I know that she depends on me. It is as if she knows her main job is to keep me company, add happiness to my life and thus help keep me healthy. Kayla will not settle at night until she knows both her mummy and daddy are home and are safe. She loves it when her daddy picks her up and puts her on his shoulder, where she gets to look down upon everything. She loves going for walks and, if she hasn't been for one by midway through the morning, she will tell us by going to her Leash and then to the front door .When her daddy takes her for walks, she loves the races they have with each other at the local park. Kayla, our little angel, has brought so much pleasure into our lives. Jody B., Perth, Western Australia
