Sakura December 2006 Canine Angel
Sakura is a Japanese Spitz, given to me by my Lolo. Sakura was the only pure white puppy from a litter of four puppies. Sakura’s biological mom is my grandparent’s dog, Princess. When I first received Sakura from my Lolo, I really wasn’t much of a dog lover at the time, but I fell in love with her right away and have been in love with her ever since. Before Sakura came into my life, I used to be so irritable and short tempered, but when it came into my mind that I wanted to train her and teach her some tricks, I told myself that I really needed to work on my temper. So I started teaching her to follow the command "sit" and of course it takes time for her to master it, and when she did I was so darn happy, it seemed that I was the greatest trainer in the world! And as a fruit of my patience and love, I was also able to teach her to "shake hands", bark at command, "1+1", lie down, and jump. There are a lot of instances where Sakura made me smile. I still remember the first time she licked my face when she saw me crying, after I saw my boyfriend kissing another girl. I thought her seeing me cry wouldn’t bother her, since she is a dog; but to my surprise she comforted me, and licked my face until I stopped crying. It was such a wonderful feeling, I felt like I had a shoulder to cry on. Even if she doesn't speak up, what she did was beyond what words can say; she made me feel loved, wanted and understood. Her favorite treat is Alpo dog biscuits, and a simple kiss and pat on the head. Her favorite toy is her squeaky toy, and her psychedelic ball. She also loves to play Frisbee and play catch; she also enjoys a simple tug of war. She is fond of going to the park, and she even enjoys her visit to the veterinary clinic and chapel. Sakura is the love of my life, and I am so proud to have her recognized as your Canine Angel of the Month.
