Kiko September 2006 Canine Angel

Editor’s note: At 100% Angel, we normally include Canine Angels who are still with us, bringing to our lives their unique joy of wonderful companionship. However, we have decided to include Kiko into our gallery as a reminder to many of us that we have shared our lives with other canine companions, and that we will never forget and always fondly remember the very special gift of Life they have afforded us. For all who have had the pleasure of such past joy, we offer Kiko, and hope, by reading Kiko’s story, you will fondly reflect on the gift that was once yours, and share in the joy that Kiko brought to his human companions. Kiko was born June 9, 1991, and we adopted him in July, when he was 6 weeks old. He passed away on June 10, 2006, just one day after his 15th birthday. He didn't really have any favorite toys except a rubber Gingerbread Man that someone gave him for Christmas when he was just a few months old. Later on, we bought him one of those stuffed dog toys, a carrot, and he really enjoyed that. He didn't really play with the toys, he mostly just carried them around with him (including to bed!). His favorite treats were mostly people foods! He loved bread, cheese, and ANYTHING fruity -- especially jelly beans. As far as doggie treats, he did like Meaty Bones, rawhides, beef jerky, Snausages, and Beggin' Strips. He was an ornery little thing when he was a puppy! He pulled down our Christmas tree, knocked over the TV, and would jump up on the kitchen counter to get food -- once he even ate an entire pizza! He was an escape artist -- he would climb fences and get out of our backyard. Because of this, he could never stay outside while we were at work. He loved other dogs and people, too. He was not a watch dog by any means. We loved Kiko with all our hearts and will always miss him. He gave us 15 wonderful years of love, and I know we gave him the same. He was a wonderful friend, family pet, and companion. Susan and Jim Miller - Oklahoma
